BET is cable channel that directly serves to the black community at large. They show many movies, TV shows, and music that are related to urban culture. The company was founded in 1983 by Robert L. Johnson and has since then been the dominant leader in black entertainment.

Recently BET decided to create the “BET NOW” application that allows viewers to watch their favorite BET shows like 106 & Park, Being Mary Jane, Real Husbands of Hollywood, Let’s Stay Together, BET Awards, and many more! You are also able to watch classic BET shows that aired years back (Comic View, Tiny and Toya, Keyshia & Daniel: Family First, etc.). This app is also accessible to social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. BET NOW also has a game on the app called “Claim to Fame” which allows fans to showcase their talents and get a chance to become famous. More shows will begin to appear on the application as time progresses. The application is free of charge and compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
